Dr. Larry Schmitz is a native of Chicago, Illinois and a Savannah resident since graduation from dental school at the University of Illinois in 1981. He and his wife Cathy have been married for 25 years and have 4 children. After being a partner in another local dental practice, Dr. Schmitz started Habersham Dental Center in 1991. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Southeast District Dental Society, Savannah Dental Society, Christian Dental Society, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He is on the State of Georgia Medicaid Advisory Board. He has participated in 13 mission trips to 6 different countries, and in 2005 completed nearly 400 hours of continuing education. Dr. Schmitz is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia Maxi Course in Oral Implantology. In his time off Larry is a volunteer firefighter on Isle of Hope, and enjoys car repair and restoration, home remodeling, running, fishing, and hunting.
